Immigration Regulations - Tips for Travelling in Mongolia

Travelling to Mongolia requires a valid passport (expiry date at least 6 months after the end of the trip) and a visa.

Theoretically, visa applications can also be made at the aiport in Ulaanbaater. But the consulary office there has only limited opening times. It is also recommended to have a Mongolian contact person present to translate and help avoid misunderstandings.

Fees

The embassy in Berlin charges German citicens the following fees:

• Up to 30 days
  Single entry and exit: 35,- Euro
  Double entry and exit: 65,- Euro
• Longer than 30 days
  Multiple entries and exits up to 90 days: 75,- Euro
  Multiple entries and exits up to 180 days: 85,- Euro
  Multiple entries and exits up to 360 days: 105,- Euro
• Transit visa
  Single transit: 30,- Euro
  Double transit: 35,- Euro
  Multiple transit: 40,- Euro

Documents

The completely filled-in and self-signed visa application must be accompanied by the following documents:

• Travel passport (noch mindestens 6 Monate über den Aufenthalt hinaus gültig)
• 1 current passport photograph
• If per mail: Return envelope with address and postage for registered mail pait.
